The cricket club was formed in 2001, with a view to organising friendly local matches on Sundays in the Sports Field. By early 2002 there were 45 members aged 16 to 70.
The club tendered for, and won, the contract to cut the sports field grass. A grant of £1000 was awarded for a cricket net, and £666 for equipment, by Awards For All (National Lottery). West Wilts District Council also awarded the club £250.
